How we make money

From the subscription, by building a good workbench, not by reselling AI. The built-in agent costs what OpenRouter billed for each request plus a flat 15%, which covers OpenRouter's fees, card processing and requests that fail after they're billed. Your own ChatGPT or Claude can run the whole editor on the plan you already pay for. We run the company lean, so the subscription is enough.

Can BitterClip post directly to TikTok and Instagram?

No. BitterClip publishes to connected YouTube, LinkedIn and X accounts, with each post confirmed first; for TikTok and Instagram you get a review link or a 1080p MP4 download. If six-platform auto-posting is the center of your week, choose OpusClip.

The batch came back and clip four is almost right

The clips land, and clip four is good — except it starts two seconds late and swallows the setup line. So what do you do with an almost-right clip?

On OpusClip's paid plans you can open that clip in the text and timeline editor and fix it by hand, or reprompt and review a fresh selection. Both work: the first means making the fix yourself, and the second means reviewing a new batch.

BitterClip's unit of work is the clip you already have. Open the transcript, select the words that shouldn't be there, delete them, and the video changes. If the intro drags, say so — in the editor or in ChatGPT: "cut the tangent at 14:20 and tighten the intro." Either way what comes back is an ordinary edit. Open it, keep changing it by hand, or undo it, all the way back.

Cut on the word, and find your way back

Cuts follow the transcript's word timings, so you cut on the word rather than near it. Every clip remembers where it came from, so one click jumps you back to that spot in the full recording — and a review link plays the exact version you sent, never a later one, for up to two weeks.

There is no score. OpusClip grades each clip 0–99 on hook, flow, value, and trend, and its own docs describe the number as suggesting engagement potential. BitterClip doesn't have one: ask its agent to find the moments and make a first cut, or pick them yourself.

ChatGPT, Claude or Codex can run the whole editing workbench, the same tools the editor uses, and the result is a normal edit you can keep changing or undo. OpusClip now reaches Claude too: since September 2026 an official Claude connector and an MCP server work from the $29 Pro plan, in beta, capped at 900 credits a month, 30 requests a minute, and four projects at once. Full API access is still Business-only.
